Anne E Chamness: Indianapolis Artist
My Background
I am Anne E Cooper Chamness, born and raised in Indianapolis, IN. I studied Fine Arts and Art Education at Indiana University and fell in love with teaching art while working at a local elementary school. A student’s transition from 'I can't do it' to 'look what I did' warms my heart every time. Many of my works have been displayed in galleries but the majority are created as gifts for weddings, graduations and for that special the new home.
My Medium
I've always loved photography and anything that allowed me to use my imagination/creativity. As a child I would spend hours with my dad developing Black & White prints in the basement of our Indianapoils home. It was magical watching the image appear. Photography led to painting. Now, as a local artist, still in Indianapolis, I photograph and paint images of the beauty I see all around me.
Visual Arts as a form of Communication
I am a Big Picture thinker. However, many of my favorite works of art are close-ups. These pieces remind me of all the small details that make up the much bigger picture.
